Casale Nostos is a space of comfort and intimacy in the Mediterranean nature. An exclusive place that seeks to make those who inhabit and dwell in it feel good and relaxed.
In the heart of the Sorrento Peninsula, between Sorrento and Punta Campanella, Massa Lubrense and Positano, Casale Nostos was born from the desire to create a refuge, a place that intents to pay attention to the small things, immersed in the Mediterranean countryside and away from the speed of everyday urban life.
The house is located on the halfway up the small village of Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi, surrounded by nearly 3000 sq. m of terraced land cultivated mostly with olive trees, with views on the coastlines of the Punta Campanella protected marine area.
Casale Nostos consists of two fluid architectural bodies, integrated yet completely independent. These bodies are connected to a private parking lot – equipped with a charging station for electric vehicles – two outdoor patios, and a solarium with a swimming pool.
Upon arriving from the entrance, the first impression is that of a modern residence. The first body is entirely clad in natural white lime. This first body hosts the daily functions of the family and, at the same time, conceals the second, more rigid body, which takes up the traditional Sorrentine architectural shapes of the rural farmhouse with black tuff cladding. This extension of the building, with two completely independent entrances, is designed for the welcome and hospitality of new guests within the farmhouse. From the central facade, there is a large outdoor patio that extends towards the village of Sant'Agata and the sea of the Sorrento Peninsula, imagined, right from the beginning, as a space for enjoying the morning breakfast.
The second outdoor patio is located near the garden. This space is directly connected to the solarium of the pool and was designed with the idea of the hortus conclusus. It aims to create a small, more intimate, enclosed countryside area where one can have lunch, sit, or admire the landscape.
The last element that stands out, breaking the linearity of the farmhouse's facade with the surrounding nature, is the pool solarium: a filter between the main building and the landscape; a space where one can relax by the pool or dine outdoors, sheltered under the pergola made with oak wood slats.

Casale Nostos is the first hospitality facility in the Campania region to receive a passive house energy certification. It represents an eco-sustainable housing model that harnesses natural resources and reduces CO2 emissions. The passive envelope is the result of two main actions. On one hand, during the restoration of the farmhouse, internal insulation was created using natural and hygroscopic materials such as wood fiber and clay. On the other hand, thermal insulation was achieved through the installation of new triple-glazed windows, with particular attention to airtightness, verified through the Blower Door Test.
With such a high-performing envelope, it was possible to install a climate control system with a heat pump and controlled mechanical ventilation, ensuring properly filtered air exchange for improved indoor comfort and reduced environmental impact. The property features an infinity pool with a view of the sea along the Sorrento Peninsula. The pool was also designed with great attention to water quality and energy consumption. Medium-pressure UV lamps were integrated into the systems, which, in addition to reducing combined chlorine, provide effective disinfection by eliminating even chlorine-resistant bacteria.

The rooms, seemingly simple, reveal a discreet elegance made of natural materials and high-quality design details. The walls, coated in natural clay, enhance and envelop the space with their soft and natural texture. The built-in wardrobes, made of natural oak wood, bring a sense of fluidity and lightness to the environment. The interior oak wood parquet blends seamlessly with the stone flooring of the private outdoor terrace, unifying the spaces and offering the guest different areas of relax while maintaining the intimacy of their own home.
In the bathrooms, everything is custom designed to offer an experience of comfort and functionality. The floor-level shower discreetly integrates into the space. The transparent glass amplifies the light, allowing the materials to remain the focal point. The furniture, made from high-quality materials, perfectly integrates with the design cladding by Patricia Urquiola, creating a sense of visual harmony.
